Getting into Milan from Milan Airport
By train, car, taxi or bus, getting into Milan is really simple, depending on the transport means of your choice. From the airport you can easily hire a car or book a private airport transfer to get straight to your hotel for a relaxing start to your holiday. Taxi services are available at both terminals and located at arrivals on the ground floor, with a journey time of approximately 50 minutes. The easiest way to get to central Milan is to take the airport express train, the trip takes around 30-50 minutes with trains leaving the airport every 20 minutes. The Malpensa Bus Express connects the airport with Milan’s central station, or you can take a coach shuttle service. Car sharing services are available to book from Milan Malpensa airport, for an easy way to get to your destination or explore further afield in Northern Italy.
Getting around Milan
Metro is the quickest way to get around the city, with four major lines connecting Duomo with Porta Venezia, the castle and other major attractions. Trams and buses are best for reaching areas in the south and northwest of the city and useful for sightseeing. It’s easy to rent a bike from a bike sharing service or rent a motorbike. Having a car in Milan is not easy as many of the streets have restricted parking. Taxis are available to hail, but your best chance is going to a designated rank outside train stations, hotels and in major piazzas. Milan has a train system and the main hubs are Porta Garibaldi and Cadorna. Walking is a good way to see the sights or you may wish to join a tour.
