From the Cairo Airport bus terminal, public buses run frequently to main destinations in Cairo, including Heliopolis, Nasr City and Downtown. Taxis are available and its best to take a white or yellow taxi as they are metered, taking about 45 minutes to get to the city. Ride share options, such as Uber are available for a comfortable way to get to your destination. Alternatively, you may wish to rent a car or book a private transfer.

Getting around Cairo is easy with various options to get you where you want to go. The easiest way of getting around is by Metro, as its modern, air-conditioned and efficient. There are three lines which serve the vast city. Taxis are a convenient way to get around and there are metered and unmetered taxis. Yellow and white are metered and black are unmetered. It's best to take a metered taxi and some drivers offers a guide service too, or request an Uber through the app. The roads in Cairo are very busy, so it’s best not to hire a car for visitors. Alternatively, you may wish to join a tour or book a private mini bus with a driver if you’re travelling in a group.
