Best time to visit Adelaide

Adelaide has warm, dry sunny weather almost all year round, with maximum average of 22.3 °C. Winter brings on temperatures approximately to 7°C. Autumn (March to May) is a great time of year to visit Adelaide, as the weather usually stays in the low to mid 20s. Autumn colours are best seen in the Adelaide Hills where the reds and orange colours peak.

Canberra Airport. Located 8 km (5 miles) from the city centre, Canberra AirportOpens external site (CBR) is the gateway to the National Capital and serves flights to the country's state capitals, as well as Newcastle, Gold Coast, Wellington (New Zealand) and Singapore. Qantas flights QF400 and above operate from this terminal. 

Baggage allowance

Passengers on Qantas flights from Canberra to Adelaide are allocated checked baggage. If you require extra luggage, you can purchase an additional baggage allowance online prior to departure. 

Checking in

Arriving in Adelaide

When your flight from Canberra to Adelaide touches down, you’ll be greeted by the friendly staff at Adelaide Airport. From there, it’s easy to make your way to different parts of the city.

Getting into Adelaide from Adelaide Airport

Taxis, Uber and shuttle services are available outside at Adelaide Airport and provide fast and convenient access to Adelaide. Car hire companies are available at the terminal or alternatively you may wish to book a private transfer.

Getting around Adelaide

Adelaide Metro offers an express bus service called JetExpressOpens external site in a new window between the airport and the city, plus the convenient JetBus service to Glenelg, West Beach and the City, servicing all stops en-route. Explore with the free City Connector Loop-Bus which runs frequently until about 6pm each day or jump on a free tram ride through the city’s centre. You may also wish to hire a bike from one of the many locations or discover the city on a tour with EcoCaddy.
