Visiting from Cairns to Honolulu

Honolulu Hawaii travel information

Epic surf, lush rainforests, pristine beaches, rich culture and firey volcanos - few places in the world share the rare untamed beauty of Hawaii. Whether you’re seeking the glorious sandy beaches of Maui, the stunning scenic hikes of the Big Island or the big waves and history of Oahu, plan which Hawaiian island to visit for your holiday to emerse yourself in all that this stunning location of the USA offers.

When to visit

Best time to visit Hawaii

Weather in The Hawaiian Islands is very consistent, with only minor changes in temperature throughout the year. There are really only two seasons in Hawaii: summer (kau) from May to October and winter (hooilo) from November to April. The average daytime summer temperature at sea level is 29.4°C, while the average daytime winter temperature is 25.6° C. Temperatures at night are considerably lower than the daytime. The wettest months are from November to March, but winter rains do not generally disrupt vacation plans, since the weather is very localised. This means that if it is raining where you are, there is almost always a sunny spot to be found around the coast.
