Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSA).Opens external site in a new window It is located in Fort Snelling Unorganized Territory, Minnesota, United States. Minneapolis St. Paul Int. Airport is located 16 km south of downtown Minneapolis, and 10 miles southwest of downtown Saint Paul. MSP has one airfield with four runways and two terminal buildings - Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 - each with adjoining parking ramp facilities. Travelers who need to transfer from one terminal to the other use the light rail transit service.

Getting into Minnesota from Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSA)

Getting to and from Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport is easy with many different transport options on offer. With options ranging from public transport to app-based ride services, you can find a mode of transport to meet your travel needs. There are two terminals at MSP: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The terminals are accessed off separate roadways, so it is important to know which terminal you will fly in or out of. The Taxi service at Terminal 1 is accessible via the Tram Level. At Terminal 2, taxi service is available at the Ground Transport Centre and the distance to downtown St Paul is approximately 8 miles. If you plan to use Uber, Lyft, or another app-based ride service, your ride will pick you up on Level 2 of the Green Parking Ramp, above the Ground Transport Centre. Directional stanchion signs labeled "app-based ride services" will help you find your way to the pick-up area. City bus service (Route 54) is provided by Metro Transit. Scheduled bus service is available through Jefferson Lines and charter bus services are also available. Car hire, hotel shuttles, van hire and shuttle services are at the terminal.  Light rail transit (LRT) trains stop at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 and connect travellers to destinations, in downtown Minneapolis.

Getting around Minnesota

Exploring Minnesota by car is popular with the many scenic drives, and Amtrak passenger train service crosses the state from the scenic southeast corner to the northwest. In the Twin Cities area, public transportation options include light rail and bus service, and it's also easy to get around on foot or by bike. Uber, taxi and ride share are convent ways to get around or alternatively you may wish to join a tour.
