What is the main airport called?

Ayres Rock Airport (Connellan. AYQ). Located 6km from Ayres Rock Resort and 16km from Uluru. Complimentary shuttle buses meet most flights and transfer you to your accommodation. There is no taxi service available in the area. Set in the Northern Territory, Ayers Rock Airport is one of the nation’s busiest regional airports, and the main travel hub for visitors wanting to explore Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. There is one main terminal, which services commercial airlines, as well as private charter aircraft.

Baggage allowance

Passengers on Qantas flights from Ayres Rock to Brisbane are allocated checked baggage. If you require extra luggage, you can buy an additional baggage allowance online before departure. 

Checking in

Getting into Brisbane from Brisbane Airport

To reach Brisbane’s city centre on a budget, take the AirtrainOpens external site in a new window, which offers fast and affordable access to the CBD in as little as 20 minutes. For a more direct route to the city, look for the taxis, rideshare services and shuttles that can be accessed outside the terminal building. Alternatively, you may wish to hire a car from one of the many car hire providers.

Getting around Brisbane

After you’ve made your way into the heart of Brisbane, getting around is easy. The city’s public transport system is convenient and affordable, with trains, buses and ferries all accessible with a reloadable go card. Alternatively, if you’re planning to visit Brisbane's nearby attractions during your stay, car hire can be booked in advance or organised at the airport.
