Albury AirportOpens external site in a new window. Albury Airport (ABX) is a regional airport located 5km (3 miles) from the town centre on Airport Drive, Thurgoona, NSW. It also serves Albury's adjacent sister city of Wodonga, Victoria.

Passengers on Qantas flights from Albury to the Gold Coast are allocated checked baggage. If you require extra luggage, you can purchase an additional baggage allowance online before departure.

Getting into the Gold Coast from Gold Coast Airport

The Gold Coast airport is roughly a 35 minute drive to Surfers Paradis, so renting a car, taking a taxi or uber is the easiest option. You can access the taxi rank from the southern end of the terminal. Alternatively, you can catch Public transport, where you can get a bus to Broad beach and from there ride the G:link all the way to Surfers Paradise. If you’re after convenience why not ride the SkyBus, which operates daily services from the Gold Coast Airport to hotels all along the gold coast.

Getting around the Gold Coast

Walking or cycling around surfers paradise is a great option as many of the popular attractions are within a close proximity from one another. If you’re looking to venture out of town to the theme parks or neighbouring beaches, driving is the easiest option, however there are plenty of alternatives such as the G:link which is a modern light rail system connecting the Gold Coast.
