Getting into Bogotá from Bogotá Airport
Getting into Bogota is easy, with a range of transport options to suit your needs. Choose from bus, taxi, hotel transfer or rental cars. Just outside the main terminal there are bus stops with the route marked Aeroporto, that means airport in Spanish. They drop passengers to the main terminal in the city centre and it’s a cheap way to get to the city. It's best to buy a Tullave card from the counters in the arrivals hall. Some hotels can provide a transfer service from Bogota Airport and it's best to check with your hotel. Taxi is the most convenient, safe and comfortable way to get to the city centre. The taxi stand is located outside the arrivals area of the international terminal and the journey time takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Alternatively, you may wish to order a car via Uber through the app, as a reliable way to get to your destination.
Getting around Bogotá
Getting around Bogota is easy with a range of transport options to suit your needs. Choose from buses, taxi, Uber or join a tour. The bus rapid transit system, TransMilenio covers several routes along main roads. It’s the fastest way to escape heavy traffic, though during rush hour it gets very crowded. SITP are the other buses that operate and a cheap way to get around. It's best to buy a Tullave card if you plan to travel on the buses. Taxis in Bogota are not very expensive. For safety reasons, don't hail a taxi on the street, it's best to use an app or get your hotel or restaurant to call and order a taxi for you. Uber is one of the best and safest ways to get around, especially if you don’t speak Spanish, just request your ride through the app.
