Hervey Bay enjoys a warm and sunny climate throughout most of the year. Average temperatures range from 13ºC to 26ºC in winter and 23ºC to 32ºC in summer, with most rain falling in the summer months.

Getting around

From the airport

Hervey Bay Airport is located approximately ten kilometres from the city centre. A taxi rank can be found at the terminal as well as a range of shuttle buses and transfer services to the city centre and surrounding region.

Fraser Island can be reached via charter flight, from ferry terminals at River Heads and Rainbow Beach or through your Fraser Island accommodation provider.

In and around the city

Central Hervey Bay is easily explored on foot or by bicycle or scooter. A regular public bus network services the city, and the best way to explore the broader Fraser Coast region is at your own pace with a hire car.
