A better way to…
A smart telco makes it easy for this auto parts importer to communicate with its customers and remote teams.
“We had a record year of growth in 2020,” says John Bourne, the managing director of Australian Automotive Parts (AAP). “People were working from home, spending money on their project cars.”
The challenge? Keeping his team connected during lockdown. Luckily, AAP had engaged telco Vonex in 2019; this proved prescient during the pandemic, with the cloud-based Vonex Softphone app bringing the features of a desk phone to mobile devices.
“We like that we can transfer calls between our warehouses, interstate and staff at home. Before, you’d take a message, ring someone interstate and say, ‘Can you call this customer?’”
Vonex’s centralised billing and fixed plans save the company about 25 hours in admin work and more than $8,000 per year.
As a Qantas Business Rewards member, Bourne enjoys the savings AAP receives on Qantas Club membership and eligible flights, as well as the simplicity of monthly travel reporting. His business also earns 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent with Vonex, which he uses for upgrades. “When you fly interstate at least once a month and overseas every three or four months, it makes all the difference.”
A business must be a Qantas Business Rewards member to earn Qantas Points for business. A one-off join fee of $89.50 including GST normally applies, however this will be waived for Vonex customers. Membership and Qantas Points are subject to Qantas Business Rewards Terms and Conditions. Qantas Points for business are offered under the Vonex Telecom Terms and ConditionsOpens external site. Vonex Telecom customers will earn 1 Qantas Point for every 1 dollar spent on their monthly bill for all Vonex ONdesk, ONsip and nbn™ plans. Qantas Points will be credited to the member's Business Rewards account within 30 days of payment for all Vonex ONdesk, ONsip and nbn™ plans. Any claims in relation to Qantas Points under this offer must be made directly to Vonex Telecom by emailing email@example.com.
