Rugby Australia

Qantas and Rugby Australia have had a long, successful partnership. Since becoming their official airline partner in 1990, Qantas has supported the Wallabies through five Rugby World Cups and over two British & Irish Lions Tours.

In 2004, Qantas became the official naming rights partner of the Qantas Wallabies. So wherever the Wallabies play around the world, the Qantas emblem stands proudly with them. We also sponsor the Qantas Australian Women’s and Men’s Sevens teams.

The Qantas Wallabies have a big year ahead as they prepare for the Rugby World Cup in Japan. The Qantas Australian Sevens teams will also battle it out over the 2018-2019 Sevens World Series to ensure they qualify for the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.

Football Federation Australia

Qantas has been a proud supporter of Australian football for over 20 years. We’ve flown thousands of players and fans around the world for major competitions and World Cup campaigns. We even flew the Socceroos home to Sydney from Honduras just days before they qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Our support also extends to Australia’s elite competitions, as well as Australia’s national teams. From the Hyundai A-League and the Westfield W-League to the Caltex Socceroos and the Westfield Matildas, you can be sure that Qantas supports your team as much as you do.

Cricket Australia

Qantas loves cricket. Since December 2011, we’ve carried our cricket teams around Australia and the world to help them prepare for matches. This includes Tests, One Day Internationals, T20 Internationals and state competitions, as well as the KFC Big Bash League and the rebel Women’s Big Bash League, which sees the best cricketers from around the world compete in Australia during summer.

We wish all the Australian, State and Big Bash teams the best of luck for the coming season.

Australian Olympic Committe

For more than 60 years, Qantas has been a proud supporter of our Olympic Team.
Qantas was the Official Airline of the Australian Olympic Team for the 2016 Rio Olympics. In fact, we’ve flown the Australian team to every post-war games since the 1948 London Olympics.

The 1952 Helsinki Olympics saw Marjorie Jackson (now Marjorie Jackson-Nelson AO, MBE) take home Australia's first Olympic gold since 1896, when she won two gold medals in the 100m and 200m finals. In tribute to Marjorie (known as 'The Lithgow Flash'), the Qantas Constellation, which was returning the team home to Sydney, made a special flypast over Lithgow.

In 1956, Qantas engineers created a custom transport box to carry the Olympic Flame to Australia for the Melbourne Olympics. The custom box contained a built-in fire extinguisher and was held in place by a modified baby bassinet frame on board a Qantas Super Constellation aircraft.

Tokyo 2020

With the Tokyo 2020 Olympics coming up, we’re preparing for one of our biggest-ever Olympic teams with more than 470 athletes expected to board the plane to Tokyo.

Plus, skateboarding, sport climbing, surfing and karate will make their Olympic debut, while baseball and softball will return for the first time since 2008. With minimal time zone differences, Australian viewers can expect to see a lot of Tokyo 2020.

Tokyo 2020 will be the most gender-balanced Games in Olympic history, with women making up 49% of total athletes. There will also be mixed gender events in archery, athletics, badminton, equestrian, judo, sailing, shooting, swimming, table tennis, tennis and triathlon.

The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) aims to inspire all Australians through the Olympic spirit and provide athletes with the opportunity to excel at the Olympic Games.
Qantas is honoured to support our Olympic Team as they strive for Tokyo 2020.
