1 aircraft every 3 weeks over the next few years
With a multi-billion dollar investment in the Qantas Group fleet, we’re taking delivery of 194 new aircraft*:
- 29 x A220s
- 20 x A321-XLRs
- 4 x B787-9s
- 8 x B787-10s
- 12 x A350-1000ULRs, and
- 12 x A350-1000LRs.
*The 194 aircraft is based on current committed Qantas Group orders arriving from financial year 2023.
Leading the way in long-haul travel
As part of our commitment to serving large markets with point-to-point connections, 12 new A350-1000ULRs aircraft will be added to the fleet from late 2025. Developed as part of Project Sunrise, these aircraft will enable non-stop flying from Australia to almost anywhere in the world, including from Australia's East Coast to London and New York.
Designed to redefine the way we travel, Australian industrial designer David Caon, Neil Perry and the Charles Perkins Centre, have worked together to ensure our A350-1000ULRs deliver a five-star flying experience with premium designer details and all new levels of luxurious comfort.
The A350-1000ULR also sets a new standard in corporate and premium leisure travel with over 40 per cent of the cabin dedicated to premium seating.

Forming part of Project Fysh, the Group is also introducing an additional 12 Airbus A350-1000LRs, starting in FY28, to progressively replace our existing A330s. These aircraft will further unlock new routes and premium travel experiences.
Designed for long-haul travel
As part of our Project Fysh investment, we're also pleased to be adding 4 B787-9s and 8 B787-10s, starting in FY27, to progressively replace our existing A330s. Fitted with state-of-the-art technology to ensure a smoother flight, every seat has been designed to offer the ultimate in comfort for long haul flyers.

Our new narrow-body fleet
We're excited to receive the first of 29 A220-300s in 2023. These QantasLink aircraft will form the backbone of our domestic fleet, and will gradually replace the current B717 fleet. With almost double the range of our B717s, the A220-300 aircraft can fly between any city in Australia.
The first of our 20 A321-XLRs will arrive in FY25. With the ability to fly approximately 3,000km further than our B737s, these aircraft open a wider range of options for direct domestic and short haul international routes.
