Auckland Airport
Auckland Airport (AKL) is the largest and busiest airport in New Zealand. It's located 21 km (13 miles) south of the city centre. It's both a domestic and international terminal.

- With everyone heading off on their holiday, you’ll notice it’s busy in and around the airport from 15th December 2019 – 12th January 2020.
- With extensive road work continuing on George Bolt Memorial Drive as part of the Northern Network transport project, and with the increased passenger numbers during the peak period, we encourage you to plan your journey so that you arrive early at the airport.
- Qantas customers have access to 20 dedicated kiosks that are available for you to check-in. You can check-in via the kiosks 3 hours prior to departure. We will also have friendly Qantas representatives on hand at the kiosks to assist and answer any questions that you may have.
- If you are connecting between the International & Domestic Terminals, please allow extra time as it is a 10-15 min walk between terminals. Alternatively, Auckland Airport operates a frequent free transfer bus between the terminals.
Qantas flights QF1-QF399 and oneworld flights operate from this terminal.
Auckland Domestic Terminal is a short walk away. Alternatively you can take the free shuttle bus between terminals.
Ticketing
Open from 4 am to 6 pm.

Check-in
Check-in is open from 3:30 am until the last Qantas departure.
Check-in and bag drop is located at Zone E (counters 501 - 510).
Premium check-in counters are available from counters 502 and 503.
For Qantas codeshare flights, customers may need to check in with the operating carrier rather than with Qantas. Ask airport staff for more detail.
Online check-in is available for Qantas international flights (QF1-199), and other eligible connecting flights operated by oneworld, partner and codeshare airlines. Online check-in is open from 24 hours to two hours before departure for international flights.

Baggage
Baggage carousels are located in the arrivals hall on the ground floor.
Information monitors display flight carousel numbers.
Baggage services is handled by Menzies Aviation and a counter to located in the baggage hall. Open for all Qantas flights.

Transfers between terminals
Free shuttle buses operate between the domestic and international terminals from 6 am to 10:30 pm daily.

Taxis | Taxi ranks are located outside the arrivals area (door 8) at the international terminal and outside the Jetstar forecourt at the domestic terminal. Approximately NZ$75 to NZ$90 one way to the city. |
Buses | Shuttle ranks are located outside the arrivals area (door 8) at the international terminal and outside the Jetstar forecourt at the domestic terminal. Approximately NZ$33 one way to the city. |
