Free Travel Industry Designator Service (TIDS) Trial

To make it easier for Agents to access Qantas Agency Connect and the Qantas Channel, Qantas and IATA have agreed to trial a new TIDS registration process. Agents that participate in this trial will be provided free TIDS registration with no initial on-boarding fee and no annual recurring fee.

What is TIDS?

TIDS (Travel Industry Designator Service) is a program offered by IATA. It is designed to simplify and standardise Industry Identification for Agencies and travel sales intermediaries through assignment of a unique numeric code.

Why should my Agency obtain a TIDS Numeric Code?

TIDS is recognised globally by suppliers – including airlines – as an efficient and reliable way to identify a travel Agency. A TIDS Numeric Code can be requested to identify your Agency’s head office as well as your Agency’s branch offices.

TIDS can also be used to access Qantas Agency Connect and the Qantas Channel. TIDS is an important way for Qantas to identify and recognise Qantas Channel Agents and ensure they receive the correct Qantas content.

Is my Agency eligible to participate in the free TIDS trial?

Your Agency will be eligible to participate in the free TIDS trial if:

  • The office you want to identify with a TIDS Numeric Code is not currently IATA-Accredited; and
  • The office you want to identify with a TIDS Numeric Code is located outside the United States of America.

For information regarding TIDS applications for multiple offices with a single legal entity located in the same country, please contact your Qantas Account Manager.

Important Information

Disclaimer: Disclaimer: *If your Agency has multiple offices but only 1 IATA Code at head office level, you are able to identify each branch office location with TIDS.

^If the office you want to identify is located in the United States of America, please visit www.iatan.org.

Does my Agency need a referral letter from Qantas to participate in the free TIDS trial?

If your Agency completes IATA’s Special TIDS application form, which is available on the Qantas Agency Connect website (step 2), your Agency does not need to submit a referral letter to participate in the free TIDS trial.

Steps to participate in the free TIDS trial

Step 1

Gather your Agency's supporting documentation

Step 2

Complete IATA's Special TIDS application form and agree to IATA's Terms and Conditions

Step 2

Register and login to IATA's customer portal

Step 4

What happens next?

After you have submitted a complete TIDS application, IATA will take approximately 7 business days to process it. Once your TIDS application is approved by IATA, you'll receive an email from IATA confirming your TIDS Numeric Code. Once you've received your TIDS Numeric Code, please inform your GDS(s) for identification purposes.

You can then use your TIDS Numeric Code to access Qantas Agency Connect and register for the Qantas Channel.
