Commercial Policy Ticket Credit Redemption - Additional Flexibility

The following commercial policy is available to customers holding a valid Qantas (081) ticket issued on/before 30 September 2021 that is being held in credit. It aims to assist customers in redeeming their ticket held in credit by providing additional flexible fare conditions.

The following commercial policy is available to customers holding a valid domestic or international 081 ticket issued on/before 30 September 2021 and must be reissued between 15 December 2022 and 30 June 2023.

1. Rebook
  • Rebook to a domestic or international itinerary
  • New travel dates must be within ticket validity (i.e. within 12 months of date of issue for Australian domestic fares and within 12 months of departure date for international fares) 
  • Reissue with authority 523902 in

  • Ticket in credit must be reissued between 15 December and 30 June 2023
  • Change fee does not apply
  • Additional fare/taxes do apply.
  • If the new fare is of a higher value
    than the existing ticketed fare, the fare
    difference is payable by the customer.
    Applicable ticket surcharges, fees and taxes may apply.
2. Rebook to new passenger (name change)
  • Rebook in a new PNR from current inventory
  • Rebook to a domestic or international itinerary
  • Rebook to Qantas operated and marketed flights ONLY
  • Rebook to an equal or higher fare
  • New travel dates must be within ticket validity (i.e. within 12 months of date of issue for Australian domestic fares and within 12 months of departure date for international fares).
  • Reissue with authority 523902 in
    endorsement box
  • Ticket in credit must be completely unused
  • Ticket in credit must be reissued between 15 December 2022 and 30 June 2023
  • Change fee does not apply
  • Additional fare/taxes do apply
  • Name Change fee does not apply
  • If the new fare is of a higher value than the existing credit fare, the fare difference is payable by the customer. Applicable ticket surcharges, fees and taxes may apply.
  • The agent must ensure it has the authority of the passengers named on any ticket prior to a ticket being used as credit towards a new passenger (name change).

Further conditions:

  • Qantas will not be responsible for paying any other costs or expenses such as hotel or other ground operator fees arising due to events beyond our control, unless required by applicable laws. 
  • All other rules and conditions of the ticket remain unchanged.
  • Once a ticket has been reissued using this authority, subsequent changes are subject to fare rules and conditions (unless covered by this or another commercial policy).
