Hong Kong Airport Passenger Security Charge
IATA has implemented a change to bring the method of collection of the Hong Kong Airport Passenger Security Charge in line with industry standards.
Effective for sale and travel on or after 1 May 2017, the Hong Kong Airport Passenger Security Charge, previously collected as a Q surcharge which was included in the fare calculation, is now collected and identified using the I5 tax code.
This change has no impact on all-inclusive fare levels.
Refunds
If your customer’s ticket is reissued to reflect both the Hong Kong Passenger Security Charge shown as a Q Surcharge and the I5 tax code amount in error, the ticket may be eligible for a full refund of the I5 tax code amount.
After travel has been completed, apply for a residual value refund of the I5 tax through BSPlink. Please include the reason for your request on the refund application.
