A class mismatch occurs when a ticket is issued in one class and the booking is in a different class. The class booked in your GDS must match the class shown on your customer’s ticket.
What Happens if there is a Class Mismatch?
When we detect a class mismatch, you will receive two SSR messages through your GDS to advise you to correct the error.

If the class mismatch error is not corrected, an Agent Debit Memo (ADM) will be raised.
- Ticketed class is higher than the booked class (e.g. ticketed in J, fare paid in J, booked in D)
- Unconfirmed bookings (e.g. waitlist or standby segments)
- International and domestic Frequent Flyer upgrades
- Airline disruptions
- Authorised waivers
- Qantas schedule changes
If you receive an ADM for class mismatch that you disagree with, it can be queried through BSPlink within 15 days of receipt. Valid queries may arise if:
- There is an error in detection (e.g. the ticket has been re-issued to match the booked class)
- The class mismatch is caused directly or indirectly by Qantas
- A waiver is given that is not stated in the PNR or on the ticket
