Lower pricing via the Qantas Distribution Platform Corporate FAQs

The difference in price via the Qantas Distribution Platform is up to 4% off Australian domestic fares and up to 5% off trans-Tasman fares. The discount is off the published base fare only (excludes applicable taxes, fees and carrier charges).

The difference in price may also vary depending on the route, class of travel and the difference may change over time.

Lower pricing on Australian domestic fares is available to all travel agents, where access to Qantas Distribution Platform content is available, either directly or through an Approved Technology Partner. 

This lower pricing initiative is for select fares made available to indirect booking systems accessing Qantas Distribution Platform content directly or through an Approved Technology Partner.

No. Your corporate discounts or Qantas Business Rewards member discounts will be the same, whether your bookings are made using Qantas Distribution Platform content or not.

What will change is that the base price (fare) on selected routes available to TMCs in the Qantas Distribution Platform will be lower when compared to indirect booking systems that do not access Qantas Distribution Platform content. Your corporate discounts or Qantas Business Rewards member discounts (if applicable) will apply to both.

If your TMC or OBT does not have access to Qantas Distribution Platform content, then their access to corporate fares will not change.

The Qantas Distribution Platform provides agents with access to seamless servicing functionalities, an enhanced shopping experience and will continue to drive retailing efficiencies for agents, customers and Qantas. Lower pricing will encourage more agents to access Qantas Distribution Platform content, and ultimately drive better outcomes for our mutual customers.

Each TMC and OBTs ability to access Qantas Distribution Platform content is dependent on their technical readiness. Qantas has been working with TMCs and OBTs to ensure that they have the opportunity and support to access Qantas Distribution Platform content.

TMCs and OBTs may be at different stages in their technical readiness to provide access Qantas Distribution Platform content. You are encouraged to speak with your TMC and OBT to understand their level of readiness in accessing Qantas Distribution Platform content.

If your TMC and/or OBT is not accessing Qantas Distribution Platform content yet, you are not benefiting from Qantas’ lower pricing initiative. 

Qantas cannot confirm the status of whether your TMC and/or OBT is accessing Qantas Distribution Platform content.

Technology Partners all have different activation requirements for TMCs and OBTs to be able to access Qantas Distribution Platform content. Speak with your TMC and/or OBT to understand their readiness in accessing the Qantas Distribution Platform. 

Qantas is only implementing the lower pricing initiative through the Qantas Distribution Platform and the Qantas Business Rewards online booking tool. 

No. Your business will continue to receive the same pricing on commercially negotiated fixed fares through whichever indirect booking system you choose to use.

No. Your business will receive the same pricing on group fares, whether they are booked through the Qantas Distribution Platform or not. Please continue to use qantasgrouptravel.com or follow your existing groups process for all your group travel requirements.
