Qantas flight credit extension

Latest News|Published 26 March 2020

From today, anyone holding a Qantas ticket for travel before 31 July 2020 can cancel their booking and hold their ticket in credit for future travel.

Agents will need to cancel any bookings by 30 April 2020. Your customer’s ticket can be held in credit but must be rebooked, ticket reissued and all travel completed by 31 December 2021. This gives customers more than 18 months to plan, rebook and travel.

This extension of validity is also available if your customer already has a ticket held in credit, for flights cancelled on or after 31 January 2020.

No change fees apply when rebooking but please note that standard conditions of the fare purchased apply and the ticket can only be reissued to a fare of equal or higher value than the original fare purchased.

Please refer to the commercial policy for Qantas customers holding a valid 081 ticket issued on/before 26 March 2020 for travel on flights which have been cancelled due to the demand impact of Coronavirus

This includes:

  • Qantas and Jetstar international flight cancellations between 26 March 2020 and 31 May 2020; and
  •  all announced Qantas International flight cancellations until mid-September 2020.
