Card Payment Fees

For New Zealand flight bookings, a card payment fee applies per passenger per booking unless you pay by:

  • POLi;
  • Credit voucher;
  • Qantas UATP; or
  • Qantas CashTM (for bookings made within 7 days of departure)~

For Points Plus Pay - Flights booking, a card payment fee applies unless you pay any cash amount using a debit/prepaid card, or choose to pay entirely in points. For Classic Reward bookings, no card payment fee applies.

The current Card Payment Fee, which applies per passenger per booking, is:

Booking Fees

There are no booking fees for making bookings online at qantas.com.

The following fees apply when making a booking through Qantas Contact Centres and Qantas Airport locations.

Change Booking Fees*

The following fees apply when you change your booking through Qantas Contact Centres and Qantas Airport locations. These fees for consultant assisted bookings do not apply for making changes to bookings online at qantas.com.

Note: However, to change a booking via any method, a change fee may apply depending on the fare type purchased. You may also have to pay any difference between the fare for your new booking and the original fare. Refer to the applicable fare rules for details.

* For changes to a Business or First Class booking, no fees will be applied for all changes including date and time changes.

~To be eligible to receive the Qantas Card with the option of Qantas Cash you must be a New Zealand resident Qantas Frequent Flyer member 16 years of age or older. Qantas Cash is a prepaid MasterCard® payment facility built into the back of the Qantas Frequent Flyer Membership Card.

MasterCard Prepaid Management Services (NZ) Limited and Qantas Airways Limited earn foreign exchange revenue from Qantas Cash transactions. MasterCard Prepaid Management Services (NZ) Limited receives a processing fee from domestic Qantas Cash "point of sale" transactions. Qantas receives revenue generated by Qantas Cash transactions based on interchange fees paid to the Issuer, deposits held by the Issuer, cardholder fees and certain rebates and incentives from MasterCard Asia/Pacific Pte Ltd.

In addition, ATMs or POS terminals may not be owned or operated by the Issuer or MasterCard Prepaid Management Services (NZ) Limited and the Issuer and MasterCard Prepaid Management Services (NZ) Limited are not responsible for ensuring that merchants will accept the Card. For example, the Issuer and MasterCard Prepaid Management Services (NZ) Limited cannot control when an ATM or POS terminal is due for maintenance or is faulty or if a merchant chooses not to accept the Card.
